Coach Richard Coston
Richard Coston was born in Canandaigua, New York, in his teenage years, Richard had a love for basketball, always thinking of becoming a pro. It wasn’t until after when he developed a love for swimming.
He attended Ricks College and Brigham Young University. He earned a bachelor's degree in Physical Education/History. He also attended The Red Cross to learn about WSI and Coaches Safety Training.
His career as a coach started in 1976 in Long Beach, California and Long Beach Yacht Club. He also coached swimming at Norwalk High School in California. Then he moved to Cedar City, Utah and started to coach swimming at Cedar High School.
Afterward, he started ICAT, Iron County Aquatic Team, to help prepare young kids for High School.
Richard has many swimming accomplishments:
Nine, 3A boys swimming High School State Championships
Five, 3A girls swimming High School State Championships
Richard has been the Cedar City High School Water Polo Coach since 1980.
Richard is married to Marene and has ten kids. Some of his children are also swimmers, and from time to time, they help him coach.
Richard is a passionate swimming coach; he truly loves the sport and all of his swimmers.
Richard is the head coach of the ICAT Swim Team.
Coach Brianna Brinkerhoff
Brianna was born in Cedar City, Utah, and has been here since. Brianna has had been apart of many different associations throughout her youth. During her high school years, she's been a part of the theatre program, culinary team, swim team, honor society, FCCLA, spirit club, and orchestra.
She began swimming at the age of 12 on the ICAT swim team. She found a passion for the sport and wanted to continue to later swim in college, but she later got an injury that caused her to stop swimming. Richard then began to let her coach. She has been coaching for 4 years now.
Brianna will soon be heading on a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and will miss her swimmers very very much.
